Kate Slater is an independent jeweller based in Toronto, Ontario. After more than a decade working behind a desk, she decided to leave that job behind to focus on her love of jewellery making.
As a child growing up in the country, Kate spent many hours outdoors and experienced her surroundings with her hands. She loves the opportunity jewellery provides to continue working with her hands and watching a piece of work come to life. As a jeweller Kate is continuously inspired by her everyday surroundings, especially her walks in nature and her travels to explore new and fascinating places.
My philosophy is to create distinctive pieces that showcase the beauty in precious metals and the magic that is created by the earth in natural gemstones.
For me, there is no greater satisfaction than bringing my ideas to life in my work.
